If the decedent had assets titled solely in their name, and the combined value of the assets is under $50,000.00, there is a process wherein an heir can transfer the assets without a probate being opened.
In order to get access to assets titled in the name of the decedent, simple documentation needs to be completed authorizing the party or entity holding the asset to transfer the same.
